changing a dose of a medicine

Dear Doctor Peled, what happens if i was told to take a psyciatric medicine twice a day but I take it only once every two days and then once a day - may the reducing and increasing of the dose cause damage to my body??? P.S I am sorry I'm writing in English, but I can't write in Hebrew.
