Humming to Myself

First of alle excuse me for writting in English, I can read Hibrew but cannot write. My Wife drew my attention that when we are outside of the house just walking OR at a taxi OR the bus AND we are not talking, I am humming some songs. She said that when we are with friends I do not do it as there are always things to discuss so the humming is more related to the silance time between us. My reply to her was that my humming is most probably because I lost my I pod AND since I like music very much, probably my sub concious is driving me to humm some music. my question is : Is it normanl for some one to humm music so often? what can it tell about my caracter?
