I was diagnose with diabetes mellitus Type II in 2008 , by the end of 2010 I had to take 3 deferent kind of medications including the new drag Byetta ( injections twice a day). After consulting a diabetics’ specialist I have learnt that there is a very good chance for me to be cured from diabetes (if not fully then at least my diabetes will be more under control) if I will have a gastric surgery. I had the gastric bypass operation a month ago with Dr Keidar and my diabetes is already dramatically improved, though it is still early days I do believe that with time and further weight loss, I have a good chance to be fully free of medications. Though making a decision to have a surgery is a big step, when I have put the pros and cones of the risk of having an operation and the risk of dying from the diabetes complications ( kidney failure , heart disease, stroke, etc… I knew the advantages are clear. Many thank Dr Keidar for the new forum. I hope that through this forum I will be able to be in touch with people who went through the same experience, who also had/have diabetes.
