גובי שלום. בתי בת 5 , בחודש מאי האחרון התגלה בגופה סרטן מסוג ALL+PH לוקמיה עם כרומוזום פילדלפיה. בספירה הראשונה היו לה 433,000 בלסטים. החלנו בטיפול כימוטרפי וביום ה-16 ירדנו ל- 0.7% בלסטים. היום לאחר 78 ימי טיפול יש לה 0% בלסטים בדם. למרות התגובה המצויינת לטיפול רוב הרופאים טוענים שהיא חייבת השתלת מח עצם. קראתי את מאמרו של דוקטור לאי ונרנדה בנושא הארטימיסינין. שאלתי היא האם יש ביכולתך לעזור לי בנושא דרכי השימוש, המינון הנכון, האם יש צורך ל\קחת ויטמין C לפני כן וכ'. חוקר נוסף דר אפרט תומס מגרמניה שחוקר את השימוש בארטימיסנין שלח לי את המייל הבא : Dear Mr. Haim, Thank you for your inquiry. Ferrosanol can be obtained from every pharmacy. Please, do not act without supervision of an oncologist. The dosage of artesunate should be the same as indicated for malaria treatment. This is not very useful, as the risk is that in vivo the Fenton reaction would take place in the blood rather than within the cancer cells. I have seen a number of cases of anemia with the use of the artemesia derivatives. These two compounds might well be fruitfully used together but I suspect that they would have to be used at different times of the day. Many such pieces of the puzzle should fall into place over the next few years. Nonetheless, a premature Fenton reaction involving the artemisinin endoperoxide might still be useful with blood-borne cancers. As to the five-year old with ALL in remission, I would not encourage a BMT. I know of no easy way to get a five-old to drink foul-tasting teas, but it is that OR using retention enemas. The teas of choice would include olive leaf, green tea, pau d'arco, and, with proper respect for toxicity, pokeroot AND bloodroot. Honey can be used as a sweetener. Start up should be sequential to allow for dosage adjustments. I like benzaldehyde, but sometime with kids you will see a pancytopenia after a couple of months, so again caution is needed.
