Corrective Laser Eye Surgery - Doctors

How can I ensure that I've chosen a good, professional & qualified doctor to perform this operation? I've been asking friends AND relatives for referrals, but have had a hard time connecting with anyone who has done this operation recently. Does the Ministry of Health have a list of reputable doctors in this field? Do the Kupot Holim? How can I be sure the doctor isn't some kid fresh out of med school, playing with his new laser toy?
