Ear infection AND tubing surgery

Dear Dr. Talia Mark, My child is 11.5 month old. We temporarily live in the USA. As soon as he started going to a day care (8.5 month) he caught a cold (even though he was the only kid there). The house was a smoking house although I don’t believe they were smoking inside it while my child was there. For the last almost 3 month he has been having ears infections most of the time. He was treated with Amoxicillin, Omnicef, Augmentin AND now Cefzil. In a check up yesterday he seems to start responding to the antibiotic AND the infection is almost gone. However the fluid is still there, AND a test of the pressure showed no peak. He is schedule to have a tubing surgery in 8 days. In which also the tissue between the ears (adenoids) will be removed (it is not going to be watched by x-rays OR other means if there’s any AND a hearing test wasn’t preformed). We of course would like to avoid a surgery if possible. I was told by a friend that sometimes a dietary can help, Can it? AND was advised to avoid Bamba (?),My child is still breast fed AND eats vegetables, fruits AND Bamba. Also, will it be unwise to postpone the surgery AND see if the fluid in his ears drainage by itself. Thank you so very much for your advice.

שלום רב בדלקות חוזרות ונשנות אכן יש צורך בניתוח כפתורים. אפשרי בהחלט בזמן הניתוח לבדוק אם יש שקד שלישי מוגדל - להסיר אותו, ואם לא - לא להסיר. אם הילד נושם מהפה ולא מהאף - כדאי להסיר שקד שלישי אפילו שבגילו די נדיר שיש שקד שלישי גדול וחוסם. אם יש נזלת - לטפל בה. בדיאטה שלו אין דברים שכדאי להפסיק למעט אולי הבמבה... ?? אפשר להמתין למרות שיש נוזלים באוזניים כי כל המהלך הוא מאוד קצר ואני לא רואה שיהיה נזק למעט דלקת נוספת ושוב טיפול.... אבל אם מהלך הדלקות החוזרות לא יחלוף כדאי בהחלט לנתח. בברכה ד"ר טלי מרק
