לפני כשנה, בעקבות פציעה חודרת, בני עבר 2 ניתוחים בעינו. הראשון - פרפורציה בקרנית, והשני קטרקט בעקבות קריעת העדשה מהפגיעה. בעקבות הפציעה והניתוחים האישון של בני מעוות ויש לו פס לבן על האישון. שאלתי היא האם יש בעתיד אפשרות לתיקון צורת האישון, ומה הסיבוכים הכרוכים בכך? תודה מראש, אלה.

Dear Ela I apologize for answering in English,but it comes easier to me.Back to your question.You state that there is a white line passing over your son's pupilCould you be a little more specific ? Is this line on the cornea or over the distorted pupil If it's over thecornea,your son will have to undergo an operation of corneal transplant,otherwise this eye will become a "lazy eye,due to the fact that the brain will not be able to see a clear image through this opacity.This operation will be followed by specific treatment to prevent,again,the "lazy eye,this time due to the refractive error created by the transplanted cornea. If the white line crosses the distorted pupil,it is most probably a band of fibrin which has grown over the pupil,or the implanted lens,as a result of inflamation following the initial perforation and the operations which followed.Such a band can be relatively easy be cut or broken,using a lase machine,the YAG laser,and this is not an operation.But it will have to be done with your son be asleep,and using a mobile YAG unit. As for the fact that the pupil is distorted,this usually is not significant for the patient.However,if it's cosmetically unacceptable,one could use a special kind of contact lens,which,I'm afraid,will not be welcome by a 2 years-old child.Otherwise,an operation of iris repair(pupilloplasty could be attempted,or even the use of an iris diaphragm prosthesis.This is,however,quite a difficult and messy type of surgery,and I would not advise it in such a small child.
