Hello, I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy two months ago after detecting a bhcg level of 216 in a blood test. After receiving one Methotrexate treatment (75 mg IM) the bhcg level slightly dropped, but then started to go up again and so I was given a secong dose of Methotrexate (3 weeks after the first one). As the hormone level kept increasing, I underwent laparoscopy, which found not evidence of any abnormality or otherwise signs of pregnancy tishue in the entire abdomen. My doctors now say they no longer consider this to be an actopic pregnancy, but a persistant tissue that discharges bhcg and may be malignant. They recommended that I receive high-dose methotrexate to terminate this situation. My question: is the fact that bhcg is still appearent in blood test a reason to believe this is a tumor (and not an ectopic pregnancy)? the current level of bhcg is 322. Should I be, at this stage, treated with chemotherapy, as suggested by my doctors, or is there anything less agressive to be done? My doctors have also talked about having tests done (lung x-ray and liver ultrasound) to try and rull out signs of cancer. Thank you, ניתן לענות בעברית
