amnisynthesis at 15 weeks?

doctor, i live in the us and am 10weeks pregnant. my doctor here said they are performing amniosynthesis in week 15. i have never heard of this and was wondering if you could tell me whether this is recommended or not

In Israel most doctors prefer waiting until weeks 18-20 . They do that in order to avoid unnecessary risk to the baby. It is a test that carries risks and is considrerd much safer at later weeks (18-20) Good luck!
