Communicatation

Hi, I'd like to refer you the question I asked on the 30th of March 2005 just to save me repeating the backround. How could it be determined that he has a communication issue rather than a hearing issue that affects his communication? I understood that sometimes it could be that even if it seems that they hear, it still should be checked as they dont hear good enough to be able to learn to talk. I have booked a hearing test just in case but in the meantime I am quite bothered. Are there any warning signals I could tell by them whether it is a communication issue OR just hearing?
