High TSH Level

Hello, I live in the US, AND recently was in Israel AND since I was planning to get pregnant I have done some lab test including TSH. When I returned to the US, I received the resulults AND the TSH is higher than the norm. Meanwhile I am pregnant ~6 weeks . I have an appointment at the doctor only in 4 weeks from now, AND I wanted to ask about the TSH - what are the risks for birth defects AND what should I do. Thanks in advance!
