Treatment for Parkinson symptoms
דיון מתוך פורום פיזיותרפיה - שיקום לאחר אירוע מוחי
My mother who is 93 years old has been diagnosed as suffering from symptoms of Parkinsons such as rigidity in her limbs, freezing, tremor iin her right hand (not constant) AND small footsteps.. She has been prescribed a quarter of Dopicar to be taken twice a day. I am concerned about how this will effect her. On the one hand it could improve her general condition AND restore some of her functions that have deteriorated. On the other hand I know it might have bad side effects both mental AND physical. If there are side effects how soon would they appear after starting to take the medication AND could these be reversed if she stops taking it? Do you think it is advisable to start with the treatment
your mother has been prscribed a very small dose of dopicar AND it should not cause side effects but only help her (assuming the diagnosis of parkinson was correct). should she develop side effects like nausea, confusion OR lowered blood pressure they will be reversible once the medication is stopped so the risk -benefit ratio is reasonable.
my nurologist prescribed dobicar. i took it for 10 days and it made me nauteous. I stopped taking it. I began doing small exercises designed by me. i'm 81. I live in Tel Aviv. My nurologist informed me she is leaving Maccabi. I believe there must be a treatment out there that doesn't rely on drugs. Your remarks Dr. Gottlieb give me hope. Please contact me.
