mvp- children

dear Dr Kitsis first I want to apologize that I'm writing in english since my computer has no hebrew fonts. I've been checked previous pages at this forum and there is a lot of information about MVP but I'm intestered specificaly what is the meaning of that desease in children (my daughter is 5.5 years old). What does it means? there are further limitations besides antibiotics to prevent SBE? there are phisical restrictions? what can we do to prevent a further deterioration at her situation? who is the major authority in pediatric cardiology in Israel? at the present she is a happy little girl living a normal life but I'm concerned about the future,: what can we do? how can we (the parents ) help her ? thank you in advance, Pnina

אני ממליץ לך ללכת לקרדיולוג ילדים - המכן בבילינסון מעולה ממש. יש שם קרדיולוגים ילדים מעולוים. אבל יש גם קרדיולוגים מעולים בקופות השונות, מי יודע, חלקם אולי עובדים במכוני לב-ילדים בבתי החולים. לגבי MVP לילדים, זה די דומה למבוגרים - מה שקובע היא דרגת הפגיעה במסתם, האם יש דליפה או לא. וכן, כמובן צריך טיפול מונע ל SBE (דלקת חיידקית על המסתם), לפני טיפולי שיניים וטיפולים כירורגים שונים. והכי חשוב בוא להמשיך במעקב קבוע ומסודר אצל קרדיולוג. תודה על תשומת הלב

dear Dr Kitsis, thank you for your kind reply. my daughter is checked once per year by Dr Shaul Baram and next month we have an appointment with Dr Teddy Hegesh for a second opinion.my main question still is what can we do to prevent a further deterioration at her condition.
