spiting up

hi, my 5 weeks old baby spits up a lot! he nurses every 2 hrs for about only 5 minutes, and seems like he spits up everything he ate. he spits up right after finishing to nurse and also an hour or even 2 hrs later and it is sour that looks like cottage cheese right after breastfeeding he seems to be restless and in pain and sometimes during his sleep. i tried once to pump my milk and to give it to him in a battle and it didn't happened then. what causes that? thanks

לא יודעת איך דילגתי עליך.lots of babies spit up. their digestive system isn't quite mature yet. it always seems like a whole meal yet it hardly ever is. as long as the baby is gaining nicely. emitting lots of wet diapers and a few poos each day it would seem that all is okay. it is hard to say why he might be fussy- could be colic. . when eating from a bottle he gets a larger meal, and certainly eats alot faster/ I can't explain why he wouldn't spit up after the bottle. ellen

hi ellen, How long does it take for their digestive system to mature? Is there a way to reduce the spitting and/or the acidity in his stomach (the sour cottage-cheese like spitting)? Also, when can i introduce diary products into my diet again? Is it at age 45 days? Is there a certain age/point when they start to eat less often (right now he eats every 2 hrs for 5 minutes only...). Thanks again, Hagit
