Dear Prof.Fletberg Hello I had consecutive (three) recurrent miscarriage and she also has diabetes mellitus type I (DM type I) and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). In addition, the laboratory tests we performed found “immunological incompatibility”: For me: HLA: A3 A26(10) B8 B35 [BW6] [BW6] CW4 CW7 DR3 DR4 DR52 DR53 DQ2 DQ8(3). X-match: negative. Karyotype: 46, XX For me (the husband): HLA: A1 A26(10) B13 B27 [BW4] [BW4] CW2 CW7 DR7 DR- DQ2 DQ-, DRB1*07, DQB1*02. X-match: negative. Karyotype: 46, XY As our doctors tell us, one of the possible treatments for the problem is paternal leukocyte immunization. However, in our case he said, this maybe not the optimal approach due to my wife’s basic illness (DM). He told us that diabetes mellitus type-I has an autoimmune component and he do not know how the body will react to paternal leukocyte immunization.
