possible tear in rectal lining after having sex

i think there is the possibility that there might be a tear in the rectal lining after having had vaginal sex. there is blood in my feces after going to the bathroom. should i be examined by a doctor before having sex again? i'm not in pain but i do feel some discomfort in the anal area. thank you for your help.
