mammography

Hello I;m travelling a few years now arround the world. MOstly I'm in India .. I have sometimes paines in my breast, , sometimes for a few weeks, not just before my period. I went to have a Mammography done. The result showed that there is diffuse increase in the density of breat parenchyma on both sides. Impression: Diffuse Bilateral Fibroadenosis. The doctor told me that from that might come a tumor if it grows, but told me not to worry. She told me to have in a year another Mammography done, AND prescribed me Primosa Capsules. The Oil of night Prime rose. AND told me that it might dissapear with that.. I'm asking you for help, as I sometimes dont trust to Indian doctors. Please tell me what my result means, if I have to worry about cancer AND what I can do about it. Thank you very much. Inbal

hi inbal, im not sure if you were asking women in this forum OR your questions were directed to the doctors. anyway, i'll write you later on to your private email. in the mean time dont worry too much, it doesnt look like cancer. but it doesnt mean that you have to ignore it, just keep up the follow up. talk to you soon. Dear Inbal. You did not mention your age but I guess you are in your twenties. At that age breast tissue appears highly dense on mammography. Dense breasts should be followed up by physical examination AND ultrasound. Mammography at your age, if you are indeed in your twenties is unnecessary. I would suggest that you have an ultrasound AND if all is OK get another breast exam in 4-6 months. Prof. M. Shabtai
