I had a lumpectomy in January and it was 10-12 mm.and the limph glads were clean. It was called an intermeddiate grade invasive ductual carcinoma. Is it possible not to take radiation? And is there any research about this in Israel

You do need radiation to the breast: despite the good prognostic features of a small tumor, fully resected and with non-invaded lymphnodes, studies have demonstrated that there is still a significant risk of local recurrence in the breast. The best of the studies of lumpectomy without radiation was performed a few years ago in the Joint Center for Radiation Oncology in Boston; they selected a group of "very good (=low) risk women i.e all post menopausal, with very small tumors of low grade malignancy, fully resected with excellent margins and with positive Estrogen Receptors. The purpose of the study was to see whether radiation could be avoided in this highly selected group of patients: the results were that still a high percentage of women did develop local recurrence in the breast and therefore a clear recommendation was subsequently given to irradiate all women with invasive cancer. I don't have the full detail of your case but as a general policy I would strongly recommend radiation to the breast only (= without lymphatic drainage). I wish you good health and an easy treatment.
