כאבים בהנקה

שלום רב, ילדתי לפני שבוע. הנקה מלאה אך בצד ימין אני סובלת מכאבים איומים לאורך כל ההנקה. ראיתי כי יש לי חתכים בפטמה ולאחר שימוש במשחת רפאל שלא עזרה עברתי ל"בפנטן" - עברה יממה וגם פה אני לא רואה שיפור. מה ניתן לעשות כדי להתגבר על הכאב ?? אודה לתשובתך.

hi Dana, sorry for English but I am in the USA on holiday. no cream will help, because sore nipples are caused usually from not properly latching the baby on the breast. Creams can help lessen the pain, but will not change the source of the pain, which is not holding the baby on correctly. be sure that after initially bringing the baby to the breast, that the baby opens his/her mouth wide, AND only then bring baby to the breast very close. when he/she starts to eat then make sure that your arms are supported by pillows to keep the baby at the right position. This is the type of problem that is very hard to help via internet, AND it would be best to go to La leche league meetings, where other experienced moms can help you. check out www.lllisrael.org.il OR call Mamash to get the names of certified Lactation Consultant in your area. IBCLC's work privately so that will cost you. Next week I will be back in Israel AND have a group clinic (4 moms only) where you can sign up AND it is a bit less money. 03-647-2411. good luck ellen
