not enough milk HELP

my son is 7 months old and nrsing exclusive. tonight he took only one side so i pumped the other, and saw i had less than 1 fluid ounce, which is nothing. last time i pumped each side produced 2 ounces. what shall i do. i really wish to continue but am afraid this is not enough. sare ther any supplemets that can help? special nutrition?

hi ayelet , pumping is not an indicator as to whether you have or haven't enough milk/ if the baby is nursing exclusively then there is no real reason to be worried. the baby is more efficient at removing milk from the breast than any pump! If the baby is calm, and easy or easily calmed by breast, and he has lots of wet nappies each day as well as one good bm, and up til now has been gaining nicely then there is no reason for you to think your milk supply has waned. Soon he will begin to add to his daily menu other nutritious foods, so any supplementation can be done by adding those foods as soon as he shows signs of readiness. so' again, no real reason to pump your milk. shabbat shalom' ellen
