There are many different courses these days for Madrichat Hanaka. Do you recommend one over another? What is it god to look for in choosing a course? Is it necessary to have IBCLC certification if you want to work in the field or in the hospital/Hupat Holim system? Is there a course in Israel that gives IBCLC certification? Thank you

Hi Avital. Today i honestly don't know which course is the best. but the only real certification is IBCLC. that is International Board Certified and more and more it is becoming a household word. it is the gold standard and it doesn't mean that a madricha doesn't know as much as a yoetzet, but the only way for the kahal to know the difference is the IBCLC accreditation. hospitals for sure take only IBCLC and usually nurses. but more and more IBCLC's are being accepted.. took many years. i know there is keshet be-anan, diada, Israel childbirth education center. i guess you just have to check around. all the best. ellen
