All of the before and after photos on my site are of patients that I operated on. The patients gave me permission to use their photographs on my Web site, and the photographs and the site are copyrighted under U.S. law. Still, we have discovered many cases where an unethical plastic surgeon will use my photographs, either on his own Web site, or in his office, as you experienced. This has happened in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., India, Spain, and now, unfortunately, in Israel. So that I can try to prevent this surgeon from misrepresenting himself to other patients, I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with the following information: 1) I'd like doctor's name and contact information, such as address, phone number, and his Web site address, if he has one. 2) Please tell me how he showed you the photos that you recognized from my site: were they on a computer screen, or printed out, or in some other format? Was there any writing on the pages where you saw the photos? Did he make it clear that he himself performed the surgery? 3) Did he give you copies of any of the photos to take with you? 4) Do you remember which patients from my site he used? Perhaps you could tell me based on the page on my Web site where you recognized the photos. 5) Is there anything else about your visit with this surgeon that you think I should know? I greatly appreciate that you brought this to my attention. I personally would not trust this surgeon to operate, considering that he misrepresented his skills to you so unethically.
