swollen coin - 8 years old

Good morning. last Sunday (17/7/06) my 8 years old son has accidently swollen a big coin. It has not yet come out AND yesterday's x-ray confirm the coin is still in the stomach.My son is not in pain, no breathing difficulties AND the bowell is working dayly. we are told we should wait more (up to 6 weeks) before surgical intervention is considered.I am still concerned AND would like another opinion. Also, he has undergone 3 x-rays since it happened AND I'm worried if it has a damaging effect, particularly as he is a child. Can you please confirm whether indeed coin can sit in the stomach for so long without negative effect, AND is it ok to have repetitive x-rays (how often is ok?). many thansk your help. Jenny.
