skin rash

Hi, Few weeks ago a strange rash appeared on my six months old baby. Nothing was changed in his diet at the time the rash appeared. It is on his arms and legs. it looks as red large patches. In the mornings it looks as it is just dried skin but at evening it becomes red and irritated - especially after a bath. The doctor here said it might be eczema or fungal infection and in order to eliminate them both He prescripted a Daktacort oinment . its active ingredients are miconazole nitrate 2% and hydrocortizone 1%. Since he is not a pediatrician I am alittle bit worried and to see a pediatrician here is almost impossible Could this treatment be harmful ? I can read the answer in Hebrew. Thank you very much.
