Our two year old wakes up crying

Our baby girl, who is almost 2 years old, has had problems sleeping all week. She goes to sleep okay, but about 2 hours after that she wakes up crying. Sometimes just a quick pick up will put her back to sleep, but sometimes she gets hysterical and it takes an hour to calm her down. She wakes up about 4-5 times during the night. During the day she acts okay. She goes to gan and she is pretty happy about that, she eats okay, but not like she used to. She doesn't have a fever, her bowel movements are normal. Could it be that her back teeth (molars) are coming in and it hurts her too much to sleep at night? She sleeps in the day after she comes home from gan at 12:30 and sleeps for 2.5 - 3 hours.
